Case Study - Retirement Village

Incom were given the opportunity to tender for the replacement of the current emergency call system at a retirement village in Sheffield.

Initially the project was passed to one of our surveyors for a site survey. The surveyor attended site and completed a full site survey of the existing Tynetec Sayphone PABX system. The current system was beginning to fail and was lacking in features that the management and care staff now required.   

Within the tender the customer had specified the Tynetec XT emergency call system was to be installed. Our estimating team began costing the project and completed the tender return ready for submission.

Much to Incom’s delight we were successful with our tender bid. We then held pre-start meetings and discussed the project in great detail of how the works and transition of systems would be carried out onsite. We also arranged a joint demonstration with a Tynetec representative for the residents to have the opportunity to look and use the equipment before it is installed.

The project was passed to one of our project managers to organise the necessary equipment and installation team.

The project consisted of 217 apartments and 30 communal areas which all required re-cabling. The installation took place over a 12 week period where the onsite installation team had daily meetings with the management staff to discuss progress and the program of works.

The works were complete to the customers target completion date. A handover meeting was arranged with a senior from the housing association and the works were signed off and handed over.

Our standard 12months warranty commenced which gives the customer full faith that if ever needed we are here for assistance.
